In addition to the items listed in the handbook packing list, please also plan to bring full-sized sheets and bedding, toilet paper, and bathroom cleaning products.
ROOMMATE LETTER – The Governor’s School West office has mailed your roommate letter, and it should arrive soon (if it has not already). Use it to contact your roommate and discuss who will bring which items. It will also include details on where and when to arrive, and a schedule for the day, so please read it closely. A staggered schedule will be employed for a smoother check-in, so please arrive at your designated time.
ARRIVAL MAP – Please use the map below to show where to enter campus, drop off your luggage, park, and check in upon your arrival. Please keep this email handy on your phone or tablet: Some additional information about check-in:
- Though females will reside in the University Center II residence hall and males will be in the R.G. Wanek Center, all students will drop off their luggage and then initially check in at the Wanek Center.
- If you use a smartphone or other navigation device for directions, type in ‘R.G. Wanek Center, High Point University’ and it should steer you correctly.
- Do not come through the university main gate off University Parkway. Instead, access Panther Drive from Lexington Avenue or other points north of the campus.
- As noted by the blue star on the map, you will unload your luggage at the shuttle stop next to the Wanek Center. Staff will be there to greet you. Then your parent(s) can follow the map to drive around the Wanek Center to the designated parking area. Then check in at the Security desk inside the Wanek Center (red star).
